Northern offered UK acreage Out Of Round
Northern is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, NP Weald Limited (“NP Weald”), has been offered Block SU60 in an “out of round” offer which was announced by the DECC on 4 December 2008 and closed on 9 March 2009.

Production Starts at the Avington Oil Field
The Company announces that it has been advised by Star Energy Group Plc that the Avington Field, the 6th oil field in Hampshire, came into production on the 23rd January 2009 and is flowing at approximately 300 barrels of oil per day. The decision to switch to jet pump assisted lifting to increase output will be made only after a suitable period of production.

Operations Update
Following completion of the profitable sale of reserves, proprietary data and know-how to Dyas B.V. for a consideration of €41million whilst still achieving a 26.5% increase year on year in independently assessed proven and probable reserves to the level of 76.5 million barrels of oil equivalence, Northern has continued to develop its operations throughout Italy, The Netherlands and the UK, where as Operator it is planning eight appraisal and exploration wells and planning to develop eight oil and gas fields.
