The Board of Northern Petroleum Plc received notification on 2 June from Artemis Investment Management Limited that Artemis Special Situations as previously reported is the beneficial owner of 1,767,000 ordinary shares in the Company. Following the completion of the recent placing on 19 May 2006 this unchanged holding now represents only a 2.54% interest in the issued ordinary share capital of the Company and is therefore no longer notifiable.
