The Board of Northern Petroleum Plc has received notification from Canada Life Limited that following a sale of 200,000 shares on 23 June 2005, the Canada Life Group of companies has a material interest in 10,485,000 ordinary shares of 1p each (representing 3.91% of the ordinary share capital) in the Company. The notice states that the shares are registered in the name of Canada Life Limited and CF Canlife Unit Trusts.
