Northern Petroleum Plc is pleased to announce that, at the Development Control meeting held on 14th September, the Isle of Wight Council granted Planning Permission to its subsidiary Northern Petroleum (GB) Limited to drill an exploration borehole at the Company’s site on Whitehorse Road, west of Newport.

Derek Musgrove, Managing Director, said, “the Company is delighted with the award of the first Planning Permission and we are looking forward to commencing work on site preparation as soon as possible. The permission has taken some time, however the work done by both the Isle of Wight Planning Department and ourselves has meant that we have covered all recognised environmental, ecological and other concerns. We have patiently and diligently prepared for the drilling of this prospect where, we believe, lies significant potential that could transform the value of the Company.”
