ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS FOR THE HALF YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2002

Northern Petroleum Plc (“Northern”) announces its unaudited results for the six month period ended 30 June 2002. In summary, the company made a loss in the period of £283,397, compared with a loss in the same period in 2001 of £331,140.

The Interim Report will be sent to shareholders.
