Corporate StatementIt is Northern’s conviction that it and its service providers must be committed to accident prevention and to preserve the Health and Safety of their employees and any other persons who may come in contact with our operations. The method by which Northern performs its activities will provide optimum protection to the environment in which our operations are conducted. In 2006 Northern re-examined and revised its Heath and Safety Programme (“the Programme”) before commencing new field activities. A major component of this was the securing of reputable services to provide support and an independent review to ensure that the Programme is fit for purpose. In alignment with this programme, the Company’s Dutch subsidiary Northern Petroleum Nederland B.V. (“NPN”) is proud to have become an active member of NOGEPA (Netherlands Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Association), which allows NPN access to many services and resources, ensuring the safest and most responsible operations possible. In addition NPN has also completed a series of tasks, including the detailed Site Specific Safety case evaluation for its planned operations for 2007, as well as an intensive operation risk review for the Ottoland re-entry project. The review actively included all of the key services that were going to participate in this operation. Upon transfer of the Waalwijk licence the Waalwijk Gas Plant and Field Operations will be integrated into the Programme.
