Our values

  • Northern Petroleum aspires to achieve the highest standards of HSE performance
  • Northern Petroleum’s present core businesses are mainly in environmentally sensitive onshore NW European locations and the Company is committed to having an environmental performance it can be proud of
  • Northern Petroleum considers that the health and safety of its employees, contractors and general public is fundamental to its success and believes that all incidents are preventable
  • In all our activities we demand a responsible approach to health, safety and protection of the environment by never accepting performance lower than “our expectations” whilst striving for continuous improvement

In this way, we desire to earn the confidence of those we work with and to be a good neighbour.

Our expectations

Northern Petroleum will always work to deliver healthy and safe working conditions that protect the welfare of employees, contractors and general public and HSE risks are minimised as low as reasonably practicable. It will do so by pursing the following commitments:

  • Ensuring through the pro-active involvement of all managers and supervisory personnel that our employees and contractors are made aware of the company’s HSE expectations
  • Implementing this policy with the Board of Directors but more particularly the Managing Director having overall responsibility
  • Treating HSE as a vital business activity critical to success
  • Adopting standards that at least meet and may exceed HSE regulatory requirements
  • Implementing and maintaining an HSE management System covering all HSE critical activities, to ensure that HSE risks are identified, made aware to personnel and minimised as low as reasonably practicable
  • Delivering continual improvement in HSE performance through setting and monitoring of appropriate HSE Targets
  • Promoting open communication and involvement of employees and contractors in establishing safe and environmentally sound working conditions and practices
  • Undertaking internal and 3rd party audits as appropriate to confirm that policy expectations are being met
