Northern Petroleum is highly conscious that maintaining high standards in our business operations and fulfilling our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) code benefits our stakeholders. Our strategies and policies are all aimed at achieving the highest standards.

Directors and senior management have regular contacts with shareholders and local community leaders on initiatives.  We value and work to foster long-term relationships in our all our areas of operation and seek to be transparent in all our activities and reporting.

Directors, company employees and our contractors are all aware of their responsibilities for ensuring that they comply with our CSR policies. We work hard to ensure that we are: -

•    Engaging in ethical and open relationships with shareholders,community
     legislators/officials, stakeholders, employees, and customers.  
•    Giving strong social and community support and contributing to  the
     development of the communities within which we operate;
•    Maintaining and sustaining  the environment for present and future
     generations by working safely and minimising our impact on the
     environment; and
•    Providing ongoing investment in people.  Treating employees with         
     dignity and respect as well as providing equal employment opportunities
     and staff development.
 
As an integral element of Group strategy Northern has established;

•    Clear CSR policies, processes and procedures;
•    A basis for honest and fair  dealings with our partners, contractors and
     suppliers;
•    Continuous monitoring and improvement in our health and safety
     practices and performance;
•    A track record of that shows no significant environmental or health
     incidents;
•    Investing in our employees and their welfare; and   
•    Maintenance of regular reviews and commitment to continual
     improvement of all our standards and practices.

The Directors confer on a regular basis with the Company’s shareholders and have received their backing for initiatives to support the interests of other stakeholders in the communities in which we work. Northern believes that observation of its CSR code and responsible corporate policies not only wins respect in local communities but helps create a successful and sustainable business.
